Seasoned Ground Beef Tacos (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Taco Meat

01 - 1 pound ground beef, or ground turkey
02 - 2 teaspoons chili powder, or to taste
03 - 1 teaspoon ground cumin
04 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
05 - ½ teaspoon dried oregano
06 - ¼ teaspoon onion powder
07 - ¼ teaspoon salt
08 - ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
09 - ½ cup tomato sauce
10 - ½ cup water

→ For Serving

11 - 8 taco-size corn or flour tortillas
12 - Shredded cheese, as desired
13 - Shredded lettuce, as desired
14 - Chopped tomatoes, as desired
15 - Sour cream, as desired
16 - Avocado or guacamole, as desired
17 - Fresh cilantro, as desired
18 - Chopped red onion, as desired

# How to Make It:

01 - Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef to the skillet and cook, crumbling with a spoon or spatula, until browned. Drain any excess grease from the skillet. (If you used 90% or 93% lean ground beef there may not be any extra grease to drain.)
02 - Reduce the heat to medium and add the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, dried oregano, onion powder, salt, pepper, tomato sauce and water to the skillet. Stir to combine and cook, stirring often, for 5 minutes, until taco meat is fully cooked and has reached your desired texture.
03 - Serve the taco meat in warmed tortillas, with toppings as desired.

# Handy Tips:

01 - You can substitute 2 tablespoons of homemade taco seasoning (plus 1/4 teaspoon salt unless your seasoning already includes it) in place of the individual seasonings in this recipe.
02 - Use less chili powder if you are sensitive to spice or if your chili powder is very spicy.
