In a large bowl, whisk together the sour cream, both cans of soup, milk, shredded cheese, ranch mix, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stir in the shredded chicken until well combined.

Pour the chicken mixture into the prepared baking dish and arrange the frozen tater tots in an even layer on top.
