Honey Garlic Chicken Breast (Print-Friendly Version)

Juicy chicken breast cooked with honey, garlic, soy, and butter for a flavorful meal.

# Ingredients You’ll Need:

→ Poultry

01 - 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (approximately 1 lb)
02 - Salt and black pepper, to taste

→ Coating

03 - 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

→ Sauce and Cooking

04 - 3 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter (or 2 1/2 tablespoons olive oil)
05 - 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
06 - 1 1/2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
07 - 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
08 - 1/3 cup honey

# How to Make It:

01 - Slice each chicken breast horizontally to produce four even steaks. Season both sides evenly with salt and black pepper.
02 - Place flour in a shallow dish. Dredge each chicken steak in flour, shaking off any excess.
03 - Heat a large skillet over high heat and melt most of the butter, reserving about 1 teaspoon. Add the chicken and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until golden on one side. Flip and cook for an additional 1 minute.
04 - Reduce heat to medium-high. Create space in the skillet and add minced garlic along with the reserved butter teaspoon. Stir briefly until fragrant and the butter melts.
05 - Incorporate apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and honey into the pan. Stir or gently shake to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook for approximately 1 minute until sauce thickens slightly.
06 - Turn chicken pieces to coat fully with the sauce. If the sauce thickens excessively, add a small amount of water and stir to loosen consistency.
07 - Remove skillet from heat. Plate the chicken and drizzle with remaining sauce from the pan.

# Extra Tips:

01 - For gluten-free preparation, substitute all-purpose flour with cornstarch though browning may be less even. Light or all-purpose soy sauce is recommended to maintain balanced flavor.
02 - This sauce pairs well with other proteins such as firm tofu, prawns, or fish; adjust cooking times accordingly and follow similar flour coating and searing steps.
