01 - 3 large ripe avocados, slightly soft to the touch
02 - 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice, about 1 medium lime
03 - 1/4 cup finely diced white onion
04 - 1 clove garlic, minced
05 - 1 medium jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced
06 - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
07 - 1 medium Roma tomato, diced (optional)

# How to Make It:

01 - Halve the avocados, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a large mixing bowl. Mash with a fork until mostly smooth but still slightly chunky.
02 - Immediately drizzle the mashed avocado with fresh lime juice to inhibit oxidation.
03 - Add the minced garlic, finely diced white onion, chopped jalapeño pepper, and chopped cilantro. Sprinkle with kosher salt. Gently mix all ingredients to combine evenly.
04 - Taste and adjust with additional lime juice, salt, or jalapeño if desired. If including tomatoes, fold them in gently at this stage to prevent excess moisture.
05 - Let the mixture rest for 10 minutes at room temperature to allow the flavors to meld.
06 - Transfer to a serving bowl. For storage, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface to minimize air contact. Serve chilled with tortilla chips or fresh vegetable crudités.
